Linting

Excessive paper lint and or filler depositing in both the image and non-image areas of blankets and or plates.

Cause Cure
Ink tack is too high for paper stock Replace with lower tack inks. Consult with your ink manufacturer
Excessive paper lint and or filler depositing in both image and non-image areas of blankets and or plates. Paper stock has weak surface formation. You can try adding alcohol subs to reduce water settings. Definitely consult with your paper manufacturer
Incorrect impression settings Reset to press manufacturers specs
Ink/Water balance incorrect See Ink/Water balance
Blankets tacking up Check B & R wash for components that will leave residues such as some glycols or surfactants. Look into a quicker releasing blanket.
Low blankets Check blanket gauge and repack or replace as necessary
